In this class no previous knowledge is required although the experience of having had a Reiki treatment or to have been attuned to Reiki is advised.

Reiju is a ritual that is performed by a Reiki Master/teacher on a student and is one of the five original elements of the system of Reiki (precepts, meditations, symbols/mantras, hands on healing, reiju) that are needed to reinforce or deepen Energy/Healing experience, enhancing self-healing and assisting in deeper transformation for spiritual growth. An empowerment is a ‘ritual permission’, a permission to recognize something that is within you and that it has always been within you.

By performing reiju the teacher is creating a safe space for the student to draw as much Ki as he or she needs through the body.
Within the system of Reiki the more reiju a student receives, the better it is. Generally Reiju is given whenever a student and teacher meet and this may be as regularly as once a week. Reiju is seen as support for the student’s journey, it does not use symbols, but involves practicing meditations and is one complete ritual that does not alter with each level of the system.

Reiju will help the practitioner to feel more open within him or herself, creating a deeper connection to one’s true self. It enhances intuition and increases sensitivity to the flow of energy. When feeling this connection it will become easier to practice the meditations. Both the meditation and the reiju support each other. That is why it is so important to learn the interconnectedness between all 5 elements: precepts, meditations, symbols/mantras, hands on healing, reiju. Each element supports the other. This is what makes the system a complete and effective practice and this is how I now teach.
