The Usui memorial, located at the Saihoji temple in Tokio, was erected by Usui Sensei’s students after his death. It is maintained by the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai, the organization started by Usui Sensei. The inscription on the Usui Memorial, dating 1927, was written by Mr. Okata and Mr. Juzaburo Ushida, who succeeded Usui sensei as president of the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai. The large kanji at the top of the memorial reads: “Memorial of Usui Sensei’s Virtue”.
